Customers choose body style, neck profile, fingerboard, fretwire, pickups, embellishments, colors, etc. All instruments feature the finest available tonewoods, quartersawn wood for necks, genuine mother-of-pearl or abalone fret markers, bone nuts, stainless steel fretwire, superior hardware and electronics, CTS and Switchcraft components, Buzz Feiten Tuning System and thin nitrocellulose lacquer finishes for the ultimate in tone and reliability. These ingredients are crafted into functional works of art. Even the most basic instrument is tweaked to the nth degree and packed with tone! Kit parts are not used--I begin each guitar with raw lumber. Click here to view examples of my inlay work We also have a limited stock of old growth Brazilian Rosewood. When it was actually harvested, nobody knows, but it was acquired over 30 years ago. This rare and beautiful wood is excellent for fingerboards or a striking top plate on a guitar or bass body. Here's what one of my recent customers had to say... Scott, I had to write to say thank you for building the perfect T-style guitar for me. I’m having trouble putting it down long enough to write… My new Stonetree is everything I wanted when I first ordered this guitar, and all the pieces came together better than I could have imagined. In terms of looks, it is a thing of beauty. The finish is the perfect compliment to the birdseye maple neck and fretboard, as well as the maple body binding (what a great choice that was!). The abalone inlay work is gorgeous and truly makes it a personalized instrument, one that I’m proud to show off and brag a little about. Even the case is a work of art. Looks are something that catches your eye, but the tone and playability you have produced are what keeps bringing me back to it. Acoustically it just resonates and rings the way all of my favorite guitars have. I find myself playing it unplugged time and again because it just sounds and feels perfect for me. Of course plugged in it has all that Tele-twang and spank that I was looking for, but it’s that acoustic tone and feel that makes it a truly great instrument to me. Finally, I have to compliment you on your woodworking skills. The craftsmanship on my new guitar is of the highest quality, better than anything I have seen in a guitar in a long time, including some more expensive guitars I have gone through. The fit and finish are perfect as are the balance and feel. It’s obvious that you love what you do because you do it so well, and it shows. And I can honestly say I’m so glad that I picked you to build my dream guitar. It was one of the wisest decisions I’ve made in a long time! Great job, and thanks for working with me so closely to finalize the specs and build the guitar I’ll always have handy. I can’t imagine you topping this one, but when I save up enough money I may just have to put you to the test on a matching S-style… Ray
